First a deep breath

To say we love fabric is wildly inaccurate. Is there anything better than the first moment of walking into a fabric store, brand new pattern in hand, and all the options open--solids, pattern, fleece, silk, interfacing, cording, and dare I say a sale??? Our bank accounts not to mention our husbands have no chance! We can excuse any fabric/pattern purchase. The kids need new pj's, husbands need robes, friends need one more purse. The money we save of course will make it all worth it! The voice of reason refuses to make an appearance until well after we get home and the husband says, "Hey honey what's in the bag?"

All I needed that day was white thread. Amanda's only need was yarn to start a new blanket. But what were we greeted with? A TENT SALE! After an enormous amount of time later, 10 patterns between us, fabric, 1 color of yarn and last but not least white thread, we left...happily.

As soon as we got home there were statements of "I have so many patterns I've never made ...there is fabric busting out of everywhere in my sewing spots ...I have nowhere near enough time to sew". The idea was born.

We must pick and declare what pattern (that we already have) will be made each month, and then show up with the finished project in hand. We want to use up what we have, so no money can be spent. We can borrow, swap, barter for anything we need,  but no money... no excuses.

It makes me dizzy just thinking about it!

It's been 10 days since my last unnecessary fabric purchase....
